Allyson Felix
Allyson Michelle Felix was born in Los Angeles on November 18 1985. The father of her Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley while their mother Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix's aptitude for sports was evident from the moment she attended Los Angeles Baptist High School. In only 10 weeks following her first attempt, Felix placed second in the 200 meter race during the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix signed a contract for professional work with Adidas in 2003. She was then accepted into University of Southern California to study elementary education. Felix's first Olympic medal was at the 2004 Summer Olympics which took place in Athens Greece. Felix set a world junior record for running 200m in 22.18 secs. She was the youngest ever world winner in the 200m in the Helsinki World Championships and defended her title in 2007, defeating her time-tested Jamaican competitor Veronica Campbell. Felix participated at her first Olympics in Beijing London Rio de Janeiro as well as Tokyo regularly placing in the top three in all her events.
